* You’re never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.- C.S Lewis
Most stories consist of words. Even children’s books contain the slightest amount of words. My story is slightly more abstract than that, though. If you were to read my story, it would consist of mostly pictures, pastel colors bouncing out of pages and nature blooming from every corner.
My way of thinking has always been more visual, and that has been profoundly inspired by nature. While some people enjoy structure, I have found myself most comfortable in a creative space, much like the floral design class I joined at Longwood Gardens. My whole life I have dabbled in art and design. More recently the realm of natural elemental design has found its way into my heart. I was surprised to see how art, design and my new found passion intertwined. Being creative and having a project at hand is essential to me.
For the past thirteen years my visual story and project has been raising my four crazy and amazing kids. I often have freeze frame moments in my head of just how that, 4 kids! I love each one of them so much. They keep me going in infinite directions and I am inspired by their creativity and strength. I have kept my dream of being an artist right next to my goal of being a mother and caring for my family. Before now I couldn’t have fathomed the idea of creating Petals and Paper Botanical Studio, but at some point in your life you will reach a point (as I did) where you begin to understand that you may not know exactly where you will end up, but just have to let your story unfold and realize you are never too old to dream.
